There’s some confusion in the community between the Newburyport Farmers Market and the Local Food Network. We’re flattered but we can’t claim any credit. We’ve been enthusiastic  supporters of the market, but it’s Shari Wilkinson and David Hall who deserve all the credit and recognition. Their planning, managing health rules and licensing, farmer needs, quality controlling the produce and products sold, bringing youngsters into the picture…and arranging for the music. They are doing a great job.

Some of the confusion probably comes from the several blog posts here on its behalf, some of it comes from promoting the voting for the market in the national on-line contest. 

We love the Farmers Market…….but we can’t take any credit. Just because you love the Red Sox, doesn’t mean you are Terry Francona or Josh Beckett. To extend the baseball metaphore…LFN is part of Farmers Market Nation…but we’re not the ones playing the game.
